Which Blackwell GPUs Are The New Kings of Video Generation?

I benchmarked Wan 2.2 on Runpod (fp8_scaled, 640x640, 20 steps) across three GPUs: the B200, H100 SXM, and RTX 5090. While the B200 is 2.7X faster than the 5090 at generating images, the cost per generation tells a completely different story. On Runpod's Pod pricing, the RTX 5090 costs just $0.008 per generation (21 frames) compared to the B200's $0.015—and at 81 frames, the gap widens dramatically with the 5090 at $0.043 vs the B200's $0.099. That's over 10X more cost-efficient despite being the slowest option. Even with Serverless per-second pricing, the RTX 5090 remains the clear winner for cost-conscious creators. At $0.00044/second, it delivers the lowest cost per generation across all frame counts: $0.014 for 21 frames up to $0.076 for 81 frames. The B200, despite its raw speed advantage, costs $0.023-$0.150 per generation at $0.00240/second. Bottom line: if you're running AI image generation at scale, the RTX 5090 offers unbeatable value. Speed is flashy, but cost efficiency pays the bills. #AI #MachineLearning #GPUBenchmark #Wan22 #AIImageGeneration #RTX5090 #B200 #H100 #Runpod #CostEfficiency #AIContent #TechReview
